Bay Area Division

Weekly Update

8/24/09 – 8/30/09

Hey B.A.D.,
B.A.D.’S End of Summer Splash Down this weekend was a blast! I want to thank everyone that came out to help us raise money for the American Cancer Society. What a great way to have fun and raise money at the same time.
As I mentioned last week, Convention 2009 is coming up and we need to start thinking about cheers. The B.A.D. officers are looking for the best cheers and we are hoping that you can help us find them. If you have any ideas for Convention cheers, then let any B.A.D. officer know so that we can have them for Convention.

We are also still collecting items for our Garage Sale for the Philanthropic Project. The first one went so well, we decided to do one or maybe even two more. Make your parent's happy and clean your rooms. Donate anything that you think that someone else might buy at a garage sale and help us to support the project. Contact any officer to make arrangements to drop off or for us to pick up. The next garage sale will Saturday, September 5th in Alameda.

And speaking of the Philanthropic Project, all money that you have earned for the American Cancer Society, needs to be turned in to Dad V. by September 25th, so we can prepare our donation.
Coming Up This Week:
8/28 – Castro Valley Chapter’s "Dancing Thru The Decades" Dance from 6pm till 6am at the Crow Canyon Masonic Center. This will be a fun and awesome event and you are all encouraged to dress up in costumes from The Village People to The Backstreet Boys.
8/29 - Santa Cruz Chapter Paint Ball: 9am - 2pm. It costs $25 to play and $25 for equipment. You must contact Eddie Tavalin by 6pm on 08/13/09 at (831) 331-9222, or show up at the Santa Cruz meeting on Thursday to reserve your spot.

8/29 - Brother Kieth Seith's Chevalier Investiture in Yuba City. Our NCDA Master Councilor is being invested with the highest honor an active DeMolay can receive, and we should all show our support. The Investiture starts at 6pm, which is followed by a dinner and dance.
8/30 – Crocker Chapter’s Filipino Breakfast from 8am – 12pm and it is $10 per person. For any other information, contact Jesse Aguilar at Jjaguilar@sbcglobal.net. Crocker always has the best food, so let's all go out and support their breakfast.
In The Near Future:

9/12 - Bright Side of Youth Talent Show and Dance, beginning at 7:00pm.
